Michael is President of Service Center Operations for Esmark with responsibility for all its steel procurement and operations. He is the former District Manager at Arcelor , where he gained extensive experience in the company's trading operations.
Michael began his career at Inland Steel Company in 1981 as a management trainee in Inland's Primary Production operations. He was subsequently promoted through several production management positions in Inland's blast furnace operations, managing a workforce of 250 union and supervisory personnel. In 1988 Michael joined Inland's sales and marketing group , holding a series of senior management positions until 1995.
In 1995 he joined Beta Steel in Portage, Indiana as the Manager of Sales and Marketing and held that postion until he joined Arcelor.
Michael's considerable experiences in domestic mill operations and sales , along with his understanding of international markets and steel distribution , allow him to contribute his expertise across Esmark's entire operations.
Michael holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Indiana University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Loyola University.
